THE PARIS NEWS, Oct 16, 2011, page 6A. - Erbert D. Hume, 90, of Paris, passed away Saturday, Oct. 15, 2011, at Brentwood Terrace Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Services are scheduled for 11 a.m., Monday, Oct. 17, at Bright-Holland Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. James McLeod officiating. Burial is to follow in Restland Cemetery at Cunningham. The family is to receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.

Mr. Hume, the son of Leslie and Bessie Galbreath Hume, was born Feb. 23, 1921, in Cunningham. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, and later retired from the city of Dallas. Following retirement he moved to Paris where he worked a number of years at the Ramada Inn.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Milow Hume, Weldon Hume and Frank Hume; and sisters, Lleen George, Nonie Mitchell and Thelma Johnson.

Survivors include a daughter, Wanda Whitaker of Paris; a son, Ira Erbert "Nicky" Hume of Powderly; granddaughters, Amanda Whitaker, Crystal Denyou and Crissy Hume; grandson, Kent Whitaker; great-granddaughters, Austin Whitaker, Lucy Osborne, Courtney Hume and Desire Denyou; great-grandsons, Dakota Denyou, William Whitaker and Ross Osborne; two sisters, Maurine McDowell and Ina Ward;and numerous nieces and nephews.
