Lesley I. Hume, 88, of Rt. 1, Deport, died Oct. 23 at his home. 

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon in the Cunningham Baptist Church with the Rev. Glenn Renfro officiating. Interment was in Restland Cemetery in Cunningham under the direction of Steele and Thomas Funeral Home. 

Mr. Hume was born in Ellensburg, WA., on May 26, 1892, son of Frank J. Hume and Winiefrid McCloud Hume. 

He was a lifelong resident of this area and was a retired farmer. 

On Dec. 29, 1913 he married Bessie B. Galbreath, who preceded him in death in 1948. 

Mr. Hume was a Methodist. 

Survivors include three sons, Milow Hume of Deport and Erbert D. Hume and Weldon I. Hume, both of Paris; four daughters, Ileen L. George and Maurine McDowell, both of Paris, Nonie Mitchell of Franklin, KY., and Ina Ward of Midland; three brothers, Mack Hume of Commerce , Eugene Hume of Sulphur Bluff and Homer Hume of Mt. Vernon; two sisters, Ethel Saunders of Ft. Worth and Myrtle Felty of Clovis, NM.; 19 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. 

Two children, Thelma Johnson and Frank Hume preceded him in death. 

Pallbearers were Deveral George, Norris McDowell, Pat W. McDowell, Paul Hume, Ira Erbert Hume and Burl Mitchell.
