Robert Leroy Hume was born Feb. 2, 1926, at Charles City, the son of Robert A. and Gladys Irene (Waters) Hume, the fourth of eleven children. He received his education at McIntire and later received his GED. Roy proudly served in the United States Navy during World War II. Roy met Ann Mackamul in Charles City and they were married at the Saint John Evangelical Lutheran Church on Sept. 1, 1946. The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Schrodt, Hospice of North Iowa and the staff of 9th Street Chautauqua Guest Home for the loving care they gave to Roy.
