    • William Putman writes:

      Edward (Conrad) Hockersmith

Edward or Conrad junior is my line. He seems to have used the name of Edward Hockersmith more than he did Conrad. Perhaps this was his middle name, and he used it to avoid confusion with his father. He is mentioned in his father's will as Edward [this is incorrect, he is listed as Conrad]. He was born around the late 1740s.

He moved to Frederick County, Maryland with his family, and there married Eva Rice or Reisz. Eva was a daughter of Casper Rice. They were married about 1773. During the Revolution, he served along with his brothers as Associates in Frederick County.

On April 20, 1789, he sold his lands in Maryland to his brothers and moved to Madison County, Kentucky.

He died in Jessamine County, Kentucky in 1808. His will was probated there in November of 1808. His wife was mentioned in the will, so she survived him.
