      William L. ane his wife lived in Victor Street Monkwearmouth in 1961.
      They had 5 children, 11 grandchildren & 16 great grandchildren
      (Sunderland Echo 25th May 1961 on occasion of their Diamond Wedding Anniversary)

      He worked on the surface of Silksworth Colliery for 38 years and retired in 1949. He served during the 1st World War with the Durham Light Infantry.
