      Baronet M.P., Sheriff of Berwickshire in 1625; Colonel of Horse and Foot. Served in France and Ireland and in Army of the Covenant.
      Killed in Battle of Dunbar, 1650.


      Served heir to his father 10th April 1617, living July 1649. Died before June 1664. Said to have been slain at Dunbar 3rd September, 1650.

      Sir David 1st Bart. succeeded 1617. Was named principal Sheriff of the county of Berwick in 1625, and created a Baronet by K. Charles I. between 1631 and 1640. He was an old man, killed at the battle of Dunbar in 1650, fighting against Cromwell. A great many of the Scottish prisoners taken in this battle were sold as slaves in Barbadoss. Married Margaret, daughter of Sir John Home of Cowdingknows, widow of Sir Mark Ker of Dolphinston or, Elizabeth, daughter of Sir James Home of Whiteriggs, Printed case.
